Academic Philosophy
Students learn mathematics by doing mathematics
"I include group discovery and problem-solving activities in all of my classes. Dynamic computer labs, physical manipulatives, and open-ended problems are tools I use to help students understand the concepts and develop skills. Lecture is used primarily to introduce and highlight main ideas. Through mathematical writing, students develop their ability to present strong arguments, present proofs, and make connections between concepts."
