The
service learning mural project for Nashua’s Livable Walkable
Communities was launched in spring 2007. As Professor Clifford
Davis explains, “Art majors Christina Caruso, Denisse Joniaux,
and Angela Landry participated in the project in fulfillment of
their Service Learning requirement. They helped paint the
background landscape on April 1, and then on National Youth
Service Day, April 21, directed neighborhood children in
decorating the “Growing Garden” and “Living Tree” murals with
flowers and wildlife. Art students had also participated in the
Heritage Rail Trail mural project... I am grateful for our
students’ hard work!”
